A designer uses a variety of communication tools to convey his message to the client or to the audience.
Some of the tools that a graphic designer uses are images and typography. A graphic designer develops images to represent the idea that a client is trying to communicate. Images have a power to express any kind of feeling and mood that a person is not able to express through words. How people look at the image, is something that depends on the person’s view. If a person’s mind is filled with negativity then the image will portray something negative to him and the opposite will be the case with a person of a positive mind. The image-based design shows the whole message in one image. This image can be anything from a clicked photograph or a painted or a drawn one. Image-based design is only used when the designer has decided that a picture can express the emotion better than words.
The typography part means using words to express a message; the only difference is that graphic designers use words differently than a normal writer would. A graphic designer grabs the attention of the audience using typography, such as identifying the product name on the package. The way designers use typography usually helps the audience in making decisions about a particular product.
